The past couple of months have flown by. I looked up, and it had been four months since I last wrote a blog post. A lot has happened since June. I have a new job, I work in a different industry, I have a fresh perspective on life, and I have so many things to share with you all!
At the moment, though, my main priority is getting out a video that I had conceptualized for a long time but only recently had the time to film, produce, and edit: How to dye lace for a lingerie set!
Throughout all the changes in my life, I always make time to create, which helps me to unwind, de-stress, and feed my soul. Even though I don’t have a huge following on YouTube, I love making videos because I always learn something new in the process. So why did I decide to make a video about dying fabric? For a while now, whenever I was looking for fabric for new sewing projects, I was always confined to the colors that I could find online or in stores. I’ll let you in on a not-so-little-secret: there’s not that much variety when it comes to colors and patterns, especially if there’s a specific shade that you’re looking for.
I wanted to sew a lingerie set for my friend who recently got married. I wanted the lace that I was using to be a particular violet color. When I couldn’t find that color online, I decided to buy a lovely cream-colored lace and dye it myself!
Below is a video where you can check out the process of how to dye lace and elastic for lingerie, and a peek into how I assembled the fabric afterwards to create the lingerie set. Enjoy!
Let me know if you liked the video by giving it a thumbs up and subscribing to my channel. 😉
