The Best Sewing Pattern to Make a Cute Scrunchie Hair Tie

The Lisa Scrunchie is a pretty hair tie with a 90s twist. You can whip it up in plush fabrics like cotton, velvet, or even silk.

It features a flirty bow, a detail that you can keep or detach, depending on your mood.

The Lisa Scrunchie is named after Lisa Marie Turtle from the 90s sitcom Saved By the Bell. Saved By the Bell was a little before my time but I remember sitting on my parents’ bed watching reruns together as a kid, long after the series had ended (#90schildhood). The show was about a group of friends in high school, and Lisa was a girl who lived the good life. She was a cheerleader, loved fashion, and rocked her favorite designer brands to school. She liked going out on dates but wasn’t afraid to say no to a guy she wasn’t interested in (looking at you, Screech). When she graduated, in typical glam Lisa fashion, she went on to study at FIT in New York.

The Lisa is available in my shop. It’s the first sewing pattern I released. This is a quick, simple sew – perfect for the adventurous beginner or the advanced sewist looking for a new project.
