Easy Watermelon Strawberry Popsicles for Summer
Satisfy your sweet tooth craving this summer with this yummy frozen treat made from fresh fruit.

Popsicles from scratch are the easiest summer dessert. All you need are a few cups of your favorite fruit, a blender, and popsicle molds. Summertime brings an abundance of fruits: cherries, grapes, nectarines, peaches, plums…the list goes on and on! Sometimes it’s hard to eat them fast enough!
This recipe is a great way to use up your favorite fruits before they go bad and have them on hand for days when you want to cool off.

The Best Fruits for Popsicles
In this recipe, I’ll be using strawberries and watermelon, which make a great combo. But you can use a variety of different fruits to make your popsicles. Just remember to remove any seeds and peel the skin. You can use one fruit or combine your favorite fruits for truly unique flavors:
- Apples
- Blueberries
- Cantaloupe
- Cherries
- Cucumbers
- Grapes
- Nectarines
- Peaches
- Pears
- Plums
- Raspberries
- Strawberries
- Watermelon
If you decide to follow this recipe using different fruit, I recommend using about 6 cups of that fruit so you end up with around the same number of popsicles as I did.

Popsicle Molds
You don’t need a Vitamix – any blender will do. I got my popsicle molds from TJ Maxx, but you can also purchase them on Amazon: here are a couple of brands here and here.
What do I do if I have leftover popsicle mix?
This recipe actually yielded 12 popsicles, and my popsicle mold from TJ Maxx only had enough spaces for 9 popsicles. If you have more popsicle mix than molds, you can refrigerate it and use it later as the base for a smoothie or add it to yogurt for a tasty treat.
Thankfully, I had additional popsicle molds from this brand (although I lost the tray they came with long ago…) so I opted to fill three more popsicles.
Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
Step by Step Instructions with Photos
Step 1: Chop watermelon into small cubes. Add to blender.

Quick Tip
You can buy watermelon pre-cubed, which makes this simple recipe even easier!
Step 2: Hull strawberries. You may choose to slice them in half if that makes them easier to fit in the blender. Tip those into the blender as well.
Step 3: Add the juice of 1 lime to your blender.
Step 4: Blend all ingredients together.
Quick Tip
During the blending step, you may need to use a tamper to ensure all the fruits get smoothly mixed together. Be sure to only use the tamper that came with your machine. If you blender did not come with a tamper, turn the machine off and wait for the blades to stop moving. Then, carefully use a spoon to stir the fruit mixture, carefully moving larger clumps of fruit closer to the blades so they can get diced and stirred up. Avoid packing the fruit too tightly to the blades. You may want to do this incrementally so you don’t damage your machine.
Step 5: Taste for sweetness. Add honey or agave if desired (optional). My mixture was sweet enough, so I did not add any.

Step 6: Pour the fruit mixture into the popsicle molds.
Step 7: Freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
Step 8: Once your popsicles have set (yay!), remove from the freezer and let sit on the counter for 2-3 minutes. Then, run warm water over the outside of the molds to make it easier to pop each one, careful not to get any water into the popsicles.
Enjoy!

Notes
- It’s perfectly fine to use pre-cut watermelon for this recipe – it actually makes the process go a lot quicker!
- During the blending step, you may need to use a tamper to ensure all the fruits get smoothly mixed together.
- I did not add a sweetener to my fruit mixture as it was already very sweet. If it isn’t sweet enough to your liking, add honey or agave (or your sweetener of choice), and blend until all ingredients are well-combined.
